Presented by Opera Asia, Phantom Flow was a boundary-crossing concert blending opera, rap, musical theater, classical, pop, and jazz, under the concept “Music Without Boundaries.” The programme featured the world premiere of “Little Light,” an R&B-inspired song combining opera techniques and rap, exploring the struggles of people lost in life. A highlight of the evening was “Phantom Special,” a reimagined version of The Phantom of the Opera that merged rap, opera, and musical theater into a fresh, surprising experience.
The project was artistic directed by Priya Pariyachart, with the evening directed by Heather Tan (Director, Opera Asia). Performers included New Kittin, Anchee Manasanun, Jing Auranus, Aoy Amornphat, Win Wasin, and Nipakorn Limcharoen (violinist). Production was by Millie Snow (Mlsnw), with text by Mata (Cumuu), and re-arrangement by AUTTA and Kant Lormsomboon.
The concert was supported by Mahidol University, Evergreen Singapore, PIA Interior Company Limited, The Navakij Insurance Public Company Limited, Club 49, and Bezorber Food Pads Thailand, with a PR team including Kanyarat Sukprasert, Leon Neumann, Chanakarn Amarangkul, Arianna Lee, and Clare Ghigo. The evening celebrated a fusion of global musical traditions, creating an innovative and electrifying experience for the audience.
