As Opera Asia’s inaugural summit in Singapore, this one-day programme features the Summit, Competition, and Showcase, centred on the theme “Co-Productions, Talent, and New Audiences for a Changing Region”. It reflects the evolving cultural landscape and the growing importance of local integration and international collaboration in the performing arts. Participation is by invitation only.
Day 1 – Opera Asia closed door summit “Co-Productions, Talent, and New Audiences for a Changing Region”
Purpose
The closed door Summit will serve as an opportunity for discussions and as a networking platform for:
- Opera company and theatre directors
- Festival curators
- Artists and educators
- Arts founders and cultural diplomats
Summit Objectives
- Encourage Co-Productions: Create opportunities for companies to explore shared productions, touring circuits, and repertoire exchange.
- Nurture Talent Pipelines: Develop regional training initiatives, young-artist exchanges, and shared mentorship programs and create an opera studio.
- Cultivate New Audiences: Explore innovative approaches to storytelling, education, digital engagement, and community outreach.
- Strengthen Asia’s International Cultural Relations: Position Asia as a rising leader in global opera creation and presentation.
